The Alameda teachers' union voted to ratify the tentative agreement our bargaining team has been working on for two years! It passed with an 80% thumbs up in a terrific show of solidarity. Members get a 4.5% raise for this year, the ability to drop dental insurance if they don't want it (worth $1,200/year right there), class size limits for the 1st time for our more disabled students, and many other things. And the LA teachers reached a tentative agreement! Congrats and thanks to the AEA bargaining team who worked so very hard to bring this to fruition, and to all the members who cared and voted.
